How Carevoices Made Its Research Team More Than 3x as Productive
Carevoices used the User Intuition API to add scalable, multilingual AI-moderated research to its healthcare and pharma offering — delivering better client work in half the usual time.
Add AI-Moderated Research Without Compromising Healthcare Rigor
Carevoices is a research agency serving healthcare and pharmaceutical organizations. Its clients operate in a regulated environment, but they still need answers quickly. The agency saw an opportunity to add AI-moderated qualitative research alongside its quantitative and qualitative services — if it could find infrastructure robust enough for healthcare work.
The requirements went well beyond a conversational interface. Carevoices wanted to create, launch, recruit for, and analyze studies through an API; support multilingual research for clients in Latin America; and handle approximately 1,000 to 3,000 conversations every month.
The team evaluated several providers, including Listen Labs and Stella, before choosing User Intuition. The decision came down to the combination of natural voice moderation, end-to-end workflow coverage, scale, multilingual capability, and confidence in the platform's approach to privacy, security, and regulated research.
A Research Workflow Built Into the Agency's Own Offering
Carevoices integrated the User Intuition API across the research lifecycle: creating studies, launching fieldwork, recruiting participants, conducting AI-moderated conversations, and running analysis. That let the agency serve multiple pharma companies and healthcare institutions without asking its team to stitch together a new toolchain for every engagement.
The trial was live within minutes. According to CEO Vanessa, the natural voice helped participants open up and go significantly deeper than they would in a conventional quantitative survey. The conversational data complemented Carevoices' quant work with the reasoning, expectations, and tradeoffs behind each response.
Carevoices also built an ontology on top of the research. Instead of treating each study as a disposable report, the agency can re-query and re-mine past insights for clients — moving faster, lowering the cost of answering follow-up questions, and turning accumulated evidence into a competitive advantage.
Testing Fixed, Upfront Pricing for Primary and Urgent Care
One engagement focused on how uninsured and cash-pay patients would respond to simple, fixed prices for preventive primary care and urgent-care visits. The research needed to establish what patients expected at a $180 price point, which services they assumed were included, and how they reacted to upfront communication about financial assistance and financing.
The design called for 50 AI-moderated, 20-minute depth interviews with US adults who make their own medical decisions and expected to pay cash for routine or urgent care. The sample included a quota for residents of states that had not adopted Medicaid expansion, including Florida, where the pilot was intended to run.
The conversations also tested alternative ways to frame tiered pricing — appointment length, new versus established patients, wellness versus sick care, and acute versus preventive care — before a later quantitative phase. This gave the client language and concepts refined through patient explanation, not just checkbox preference.
Under Two Weeks, One-Third the Competing Cost
Carevoices delivered the study end to end in under two weeks, at one-third of the cost of competing approaches, and won the business. The client received a stronger deliverable in roughly half the time the agency's previous process would have required.
That speed did not come from shortening the interviews or stripping out the qualitative layer. It came from running conversations concurrently, automating the repetitive parts of fieldwork and synthesis, and keeping the agency team focused on research design, interpretation, and client counsel.
The same infrastructure can support multilingual work and a much larger monthly research volume without requiring Carevoices to scale moderator headcount linearly with every new client engagement.
More Capacity Became a Growth Advantage
Carevoices measures the operational impact in the number of studies its existing team can run at once. On that basis, team productivity is now more than three times higher.
The agency can take on more client work, deliver it faster, and preserve the depth that healthcare and pharma decisions require. Clients in the trial were highly satisfied with the output, and the combination of conversational evidence plus a reusable ontology gave Carevoices a differentiated offer in a crowded research market.
For Vanessa, the value is not simply faster fieldwork. It is a new delivery model: agency judgment and client context on top of scalable interview infrastructure, with prior research becoming more useful each time it is queried.
We delivered a significantly better client deliverable in half the usual time. We can now take on more work, and our team is more than three times as productive based on the number of studies we can run at once.Vanessa Founder & CEO, Carevoices
The Bottom Line
Carevoices embedded User Intuition into its healthcare research workflow, from study creation and recruitment through interviews, analysis, and reuse of past findings.
The agency delivered a patient-pricing study in under two weeks at one-third of competing cost and reports more than three times the concurrent study capacity.
That capacity allows its team to serve more clients while retaining control of methodology, interpretation, and client relationships.
